Password protected: Building a Digital Community App

Amazon Global Communities organization goal is to drive engagement, advocacy, and program adoption among strategic partners part of Amazon’s supply chain through development of a community app, accessible via web and mobile, to connect partners with each other and with Amazon.

The initial instance of the app was built using a 3rd party platform. However, as AGC looked to scale to more partners, the restrictions of using a 3rd party hindered efforts to offer customers a true community experience. As lead designer for AGC, I created the vision for AGC’s next generation, 1st party app that launched and saw success metrics surpass performance of the previous experience.

Results

SUS score of 76 (B), increasing from previous score of 65 (C)

48.7% usage rate of community, making it AGC’s top engaged community (+13.3% increase over AGC’s goal of 35%)

1.64 ease of use rating, on scale of 1 (easiest) to 7 (most difficult)
